What are you doing tomorrow night? Since it’s a What are you doing tomorrow night? Since it’s a Thursday, most likely not much. Well, if you live anywhere near the wonderful urban/suburban center of Morristown, stop in to this opening, Color is Joyful. Presented by Morris Arts and the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation, thanks to the curator @beatrice_mady who included my work. I’m thrilled to have work from the last few months in this exhibit. I’m also exhibiting with some amazing other artists - @jamespustorino, @vincent_salvati , @dianeenglishart, and @aeprints. After years of not making monotypes, I was ready to work on a press again. This is one of the many prints created in the print space at DuCret School of Art @ducretnj . An outstanding place devoted to helping emerging creatives get going. This piece is titled, "Clouds," a monotype with hand-drawing. Thanks to the wonderful collector who now owns this for their home. I'm pleased to announce that my latest painting, " I'm pleased to announce that my latest painting, "Memento Mori" has been accepted into the 2022 NJ Arts Annual: Reemergence. With the focus on my work having been around issues of disconnect, discordance and loss, the new painting is a perfect fit. From the NJ State Museum's prospectus, "At the start of 2022, the world remains devastated by the COVID-19 pandemic, political and ideological polarization continues to divide Americans, and our collective reckoning with systemic racism remains critical to achieving the country’s promise. Artists, like most New Jerseyans, are taking steps to reemerge into an altered landscape. How has this change landscape manifested itself in artists’ practice? Do the works reflect hope, despair, resignation, something else? Have artists altered their style, worked with new materials, embraced technology?
