This group of portraits, inspired by the old adage, “Sticks and stones can break my bones, but names can never hurt me,” is an illustration of how that saying needs to be revisited. Given all that has been discovered about bullying, especially verbal bullying, it was clear to me, as evidenced by each of these people, that it really isn’t true.
